CaliCovers were designed for surf fishermen/gals.  I’ve been hitting the surf in SoCal with my buddy’s since we were kids and after being introduced to the Calissa’s and LC’s and the mondo BSP and Halibut they’ve been producing we were hooked.  Now we’ve invested a fortune in our lure collections and found there was nothing on the market that worked well for covering, storing and protecting them.  So after a few beers and some brainstorming sessions with my bro’s I went to work.  Using my 20+ year background in packaging-design I designed CaliCovers.  We wanted something inexpensive, easy-to-use, and made of clear plastic like a tube but better, something to keep them from snagging on everything they touched.  Something we could throw in our backpacks or put in our pockets and something to keep them organized in our plastic cases.  So the pillow-pack design was the answer.  Unlike a tube the pillow-pack traps the lure and hooks inside eliminating hook and lure movement.  This simple design was perfect and accomplished what we were looking for.

-No snags on the jacket, shorts, wieghters & car seats (keeps the wife happy)

-No more hook tangles with the other lures, tackle and rods (or anything they touch)

-Simple squeeze and release design is easy to insert and release the lure. (so easy to use, no screw caps like a tube)

-Helps cut down on hook-rash so lures look better and last longer (it’s amazing how well it works)

-Works great in the Plano plastic cases, easy to see and organize in colors (really cool)

-Attaches to the eyelet when hiking the beach and when we all throw our rods in the cars (bonus)

-Safer too, I always imagine a child or dog getting ahold of one of those lures (not good, serious)

Thanks for your interest and hope to see you out there with your CaliCovers.
